CANTON — Chief Wendell Robery reports that the Canton Fire Department responded to and extinguished a house fire on Sunnybrook Lane on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, July 16, at about 6 p.m., a resident of 18 Sunnybrook Lane reported that their home was on fire.
Firefighters arrived to find fire and smoke coming from the exterior wall of the single-story home, with residents safely outside.
First responders learned that a tree on the property had fallen and taken down a power line. The connected electrical wiring was ripped out of the home, damaging the service wiring to the house.
Crews quickly extinguished the flames, using water on the house and dry chemical extinguishers on the electrical wiring.
The scene was cleared at approximately 8:04 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
Eversource and the Canton electrical inspector assessed the scene, and residents were able to return to the home.
